Rev. Nathaniel and Cherita Adawonu
New Harvest Missions International
Togo, West Africa
Nathaniel Adawonu was born in Togo, West Africa. Through his many years of experience as a church planter, pastor and national church leader in West Africa, Nathaniel has developed a passion for starting and strengthening national, gospel-centered, church planting movements especially among Muslims. His tremendous insights and experience in indigenous missions, combined with his heart for the lost and familiarity with different cultures, uniquely equips him for effective leadership in the West African church today.
Nathaniel is a graduate of Hope Institute of Theology, Accra, Ghana where he received training in pastoral studies. He also studied Inter-cultural and Missions in Denver, CO at the School of Missions as well as Trinity College in New Port Richey, FL. Nathaniel is a graduate of RTS, Orlando, FL. He was ordained by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana/Togo. He has served in various mission organizations and ministries before founding New Harvest Missions International in 1993. We are so grateful that you are partnering with us as we follow God’s call to ministry in Muslim West Africa.
Nathaniel’s wife, Cherita, remains very active in prayer ministry for NHMI. Her plate has been full being a wife and mom and helping with volunteer needs both in the U.S. and Togo in addition to working a part-time job locally. They are blessed with three children: Samuel, Rachel, and Nathaniel.
Prayer Requests and Challenges for 2023-24:
While rejoicing in God’s favor in accomplishing all that we have been able to do, we are very much conscious of the intense spiritual warfare that has characterized our journey of faith over the years in ministry. The constant challenges of inadequate financial support for our ministry have remained an ever-present reality. Yet we have resolved to faithfully serve Him and trust in Him to accomplish his eternal purposes in Muslim West Africa. So, pray with us and for us that we might have adequate support for our various ministry areas. For all NHMI upcoming meetings, traveling, and ministry activities.
